39 weeks and the hand is done.

I've been watching this tiny pink hand grow in my baby app for many, many moons. This pink hand used to be just a few millimeters long! And today, at exactly 39 weeks, it is finished growing!

13 weeks:

39 weeks:

Funny enough, THIS is what makes it feel like, at any moment, contractions could start and we could be headed to the hospital. Her little hands are done growing! (Which I should've known based on her not-so-little punches. I actually think she's doing barrel rolls in there.)

So far, the only update I have is that yesterday I had a few contractions about 15 minutes apart, but then they went away. At our appointment Tuesday, our doctor checked me and said I'm progressing nicely. (I'll spare you the exact details of what my cervix is up to.) It could be today and it could be February 1st. BUT he's thinking that our due date of January 26th will be pretty accurate. He won't let me go very far overdue, so that is nice.

In the meantime, I do a lot of sleeping and wearing Drew's clothes—because they're all that fits. I also spend a considerable amount of time chomping on ice and feeling an incessant need to pick up the house. "Nesting" as they say.

Yesterday I sent Drew to Sonic just for a cup full of ice. He obliged. SO kind.

Ankles get more swollen every day it seems.

And here's a car bump picture from our last shower two weeks ago. Yep, still not huge. It's true.

I'll be working up until my due date. This is only one more week, but as the days roll on, it gets increasingly more difficult to get up, put on makeup, do hair and find clothes that fit. So if you'd like to pray for me—that I would finish strong at work—that would be wonderful. Thankfully, the people I work with are unbelievably supportive and pretend not to notice when I wear Magnolia t-shirts and maternity leggings when need be.

If I make it until tomorrow (which I'm sure I will) Drew is going to take me to Diamondback's for an early anniversary dinner after work. I'm REALLY excited for that...mostly because it feels like our last big date, and I think one last night out will be so fun. There will probably also be a red box rental involved. And some sparkling grape juice. (I'm not kidding. We actually bought some at HEB.)

The nursery is pretty much done. I'll share photos after the baby is here, because her name will show up a few places. But I like the way it turned out. Really simple, really sweet. Just hoping she's actually a girl—because pink flamingos won't be great for a little boy.

The hospital bags are (mostly) packed.
I've got two outfits for me, a maternity robe, sports bras, all the toiletries, a few outfits for Drew, cozy socks, slippers, shower shoes, headphones, and a few other things I'm told I'll need post-baby. Let me know if I forgot anything.

It's right by the door ready to go!

For the little lady, I pretty much packed....everything. How do people choose?! I'm basically filling my diaper bag (WHICH I'M OBSESSED WITH! Thank you, Temple shower hostesses! Check it out here) with outfits for this little one. Again, don't know what we'll do if she's a boy...send my mom on an emergency trip to Carter's?

Alright, peeps. That's it for this lunch break update. Just REALLY wanted to share my excitement that her little hands are FULLY GROWN. :) Bring it on, baby girl!
